Biography

Born in Durban, Cameron Delport made his debut for the Dolphins in the 2008-09 season. The southpaw’s attacking instinct and his ability to hit the ball cleanly caught everyone’s attention and his name started doing rounds. He became an integral part of the Dolphins' set-up, especially in the T20 format.

His exploits in the shortest format soon saw him travelling the world and playing in various leagues. He was a success in a few of the leagues as well. Apart from playing for the Dolphins and later the Lions (having made a switch in the later stages of his career), he remained a regular feature in some of the league. Caribbean Premier League, Bangladesh Premier League, and Pakistan Super League to name a few. In fact, he also got a contract from the Indian Premier League and Big Bash League.

Having travelled the world, amassing experience in the shortest format and with over 6,000 runs along with five centuries, Delport brings his wealth of expertise to the Pretoria Capitals. Apart from being a clean and powerful ball-striker, he is also a handy medium pacer with a knack of picking wickets.
