Biography
A stylish right handed wicket-keeper batter, who possesses the ability to hit boundaries at will while also rotating the strike to the team’s favor. He was part of South Africa’s U-19 team that lifted the trophy in 2014. Clyde led from the front with the bat in the semi-final, top-scoring with 74 off 92 balls for his side that propelled the Proteas to a fighting total of 230/9, which they later defended successfully. Clyde was part of the Border Cricket Team squad for the 2015 Africa T20 Cup.
After being a prominent name in the domestic circuit over the years, Clyde was named in Boland's squad for the 2021–22 domestic season. The wicket-keeper batter made a mark right on his debut game for them, smashing his maiden hundred in T20 cricket, an unbeaten 104 off 63, including 11 fours and 4 sixes that gave him the Batter of the Match Award.
Fortuin had a very good domestic season, representing Boland in Division One of the One Day Cup and 4-Day Domestic Series last year, that led to him being picked up by the Pretoria Capitals, ahead of the start of the SA20.
